6. Snakes are cold-blooded, which means they depend on their environment for their body heat. Also, snakes that are warmer tend to digest their food faster. Many snakes take 3 to 5 days to fully digest their food, some larger snakes can take as long as a whole week.

7. Some snakes have to dive over 100 feet down into the ocean to get their food. Because of this, some snakes have developed evolutionary adaptations like paddle-shaped tails that help them to swim so deep into the ocean for their food.

8. Snakes only have 1 usable lung. Their left lung is so small it is not vestigial and no longer useable. This is so that snakes can maintain their elongated shape. Because of this, snakes can only use their right lung.

9. Some people think snakes have no ears. In reality, they do have ears and can hear, but their ears, unlike some lizards, are covered by external skin and scales. Because of this, it is estimates that snakes hear about as well as a humans when they plug ther ears.
